Most of these situations end with the animal being euthanized or forced to live a life of misery in unsanitary conditions. There are also situations where people just run into hard times, and no matter how much they love their animals, they aren't able to provide for them anymore so they are looking to place their beloved animal(s) with a sanctuary such as ours.

 

There are many so-called "sanctuaries", that portray themselves as rescue facilities for exotic animals but seem to be more interested in breeding or purchasing cubs while leaving adult animals who desperately need homes with no place to go!

 

Our mission here at Wildlife Survival is to rescue animals without prejudice. We do not intentionally breed, and we DO Not sell our animals!  We do not take our animals out in public or allow direct contact with the public. We were founded to provide the animals we rescue with over-sized natural habitats where they can live out their lives peacefully while being provided with the best possible care they deserve. Our animals call the sanctuary their permanent home where they can be safe from harm.

 

We always try to place animals together in a habitat. The reason for this is companionship, it is the ONLY year round, constant enrichment for both animals.  Our cats are neutered and spayed so there is no "accidental"  breeding. The only reason  we would not spay or neuter one of them is because of health concerns or if it isn't sharing a habitat with an animal of the opposite sex.

 

With so many exotic animals in need of homes, we realize that we can't rescue every animal that we are approached with, so we often enlist the aid of other organizations and people with similar goals to help us place animals in need.

 

Wildlife Survival Sanctuary is operated by an all non-paid volunteer staff, therefore we have no administrative cost, which ensures that all donations go directly towards the cost of care for our animals. All donations are tax-deductible. We depend on the public for support, and yes, we need your help!
