These 2 Iguanas were donated to the sanctuary from Petco in December 2015, they had health issues that made them inappropriate for sale.
Iggy was discovered in someone's back yard in winter. Iguana's are not native to Florida and are found in Central and South America where the weather is much warmer and they are better adapted for that climate. As the weather cools down in Florida, they are often found dead, falling out of the trees as they are reptiles that need warmth to keep their metabolism going.
Haji was surrendered to our sanctuary as his owner could not handle his temperament. He is not too friendly and does not like to be held.
