Kiya is a female African Leopard. She was born on October 23, 2000 as the last cub produced by a breeder before she finally decided to retire out of the animal trade. She was given to Jim Moore, because her owner knew she would get the best home possible! He has raised her since she was one week old. Kiya is the second Leopard Jim has raised, the first one was Black Majik who was born at Big Cat Rescue and given to Jim when he volunteered there. Leopards as other wild animals are a handful and not recommended as pets and we have learned and advocate that they belong in the wild not in a cage.

In Memoriam

Asia is a male Asian Leopard. He was born on February 14, 1996 and arrived at the sanctuary on November 24, 2001. Asia was raised by an owner that loved him very much but she was no longer able to care for him due to a physical illness.

Asia loves human attention and always puts on a great show for any visitors and loves to play.

Black Majik
Black Majik was the first big cat to reside at the sanctuary. The owner moved away from another sanctuary and since he had raised Majik there from when he was little, was allowed to bring him along. Black Majik passed away at age 15 and he is greatly missed by his owner.

Mom came to us from another sanctuary that was no longer able to take care of her. She was the oldest big cat ever to reside at our sanctuary. She passed away peacefully at 28 years old. She was a female African leopard and Kiya's mom.
